- AnalysisWe have technician who will check a spindle carefully and minutely before sending and referring it for repairs. There is an accurate location of the problem area within the spindle before repair is started. This is initiated with 5 stages of evaluation.
- Incoming Vibration AanalysisThree factors such as the bearing condition, level of imbalance and the non-repetitive runout is assessed with an incoming vibration analysis test.
- Assembled Spindle Inspection The tool end of the shaft is inspected thoroughly to find out any reason for spindle crashes or improper tooling in the same.
To understand the presence of an over tight belt or improper tooling there is a rear taper runout inspection carried out.
Bearing wear and spindle crash is inspected with a preloaded test. - Disassembled Spindle Inspection To understand the cause of the spindle crash, improper tooling and overheating there is a Pilot ID or a taper runout carried out. For all bearing defects and misfits there is a bearing journal inspection. There is also a complete shaft inspection to find the cause of crash, overheating; it is probed if there was a shortage of coolant or an overloading.
- Bearing Condition There will a complete checking for bearings carried out under lab conditions by a GTI trained technician. This will inspect for any lack of lubrication, over speeding, overloading or loss of pre-load, contamination of the coolant or any other material or overheating due to electrical defects.
This is aided with the Bearing OEM facilities and personnel. - Engineering Recommendations For the better performance of a spindle we also make suggestions for design change or modifications. This is aimed at better functionality and long lasting performance. For example if there is a failure of the spindle because of contamination there are suggestions for new labyrinth nuts, air purging, hybrid bearings or sealing design improvements.
- Removal If the spindle has to be removed from the grinding machine it can be done by a customer by themselves. On request a GTI technician will visit the customer and carry out the same work as well.
- Repair After a completion of the repair process of a Hessapp spindle there is a detailed report of the nature of repair and the guidelines for ideal maintenance in future. This information will be provided even before the re-installation of the spindle is carried out.
- Testing All spindles are checked for operations along with their accessories like encoders and proximity switches among others. Also done with this is a vibration analysis test; there is a review carried out by an independent GTI quality control manager.
- Reinstallation After the repair is done on the Hesssapp machine tool spindle it is reinstalled and checked for smooth operations and performance. A GTI technician for a customer can also carry this out and they will also provide all the documentation and invoices.
